ABSTRACT This study was survey research which aimed to compare self-management behaviors and estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), between patients with chronic kidney disease CKD) who received conventional medicine group and conventional medicine cooperated with Buddhist medicine group. This study conducted in 4 Health Promoting Hospital, Kalasin Province since January 2017 to November 2017. The samples consisted of 76 patients by purposive sampling according to inclusion criteria. They were assigned into an experimental group and compared group by using match pair, 38 patients pereach group. The research instruments were rating-scale questionnaires. Descriptive statistics and independent sample t-test were used to analyze the data. The results of the study found that the mean scores of self-management behavior and health status, among the Buddhist medicine cooperated with conventional medicine group, were higher than the conventional medicine group (p<.001). In addition, the eGFR levels of both groups before implementation were not significant differences at 0.05. However, after implementation there were significant differences at 0.05. cation of Buddhist Medicine with Conventional Medicine could improve the self-management behaviors and health status among CKD patients, which are better than the treatment by Conventional Medicine only. Thus, the principles of health care according to Buddhist Medicine should be applied to health care promotion and prolonged care for CKD patients.
