ARUNRAT KRAILADSIRI : EFFECTS OF BALANCED DIET ACCORDING TO BUDDHIST MEDICINE ON THE CHANGES OF BLOOD SUGAR LEVELS AMONG TYPE 2 DIABETIC PATIENTS . Abstract T his study was survey research which aimed to compare bl o od sugar levels among Type 2 diabetic ( DM ) patients between before and after participating at Buddhist holistic medicine camp and to study their balanced diet consumption behaviors according to Buddhist medicine after attending to the camp for 12 weeks . Samples were 35 Type 2DM patients who attending to the camp in October 2017 based on purposive sampling along with inclusion criteria . The research instruments consisted of a 3 - day f ood record , weekly FBS together with HbA1c before and after 12 weeks . Data were analyzed by using descripti ve statistics and p aired sample t - test . The findings revealed that FBS and HbA1c of the participants decreased si gnificantly with p - value = 0 . 001 . Because of the balanced diet 88 . 6 % of patients have changed their sequential eating while 62 . 9 % d ecreased using food additives, 60 % i ncr eased their food mastication, 54 . 3 % pay more attention to chemicals and insecticides, 42 . 9 % decreased their meat dishes and 28 . 6 applied the knowledge of hot and cold inducing food .
