ABSTRACT This research is an experimental research which has the purpose of studying the effect of empowerment on the behavior of reducing or giving up meat consumption and health status of participants in Buddhist Medicine. The sample group were 70 Buddhist Medicine participants between ages 20-80 who took random sampling. They were divided into 2 groups; experimental group and comparison group which had 35 people in each group. The research took 12 weeks to study between experimental group who received empowerment and comparison group who did not received any empowerment. The data were collected before and after the experiment by questionnaire, in-depth interviews, and group discussion. The data were analyzed with percentage, sample mean, standard deviation, boundary test, and content analysis. The research result found that after the experimental group received the empowerment, their behavior of reducing and giving up meat were different than before receiving the empowerment statistically significant at level of 0.05.
